Support to an international infrastructure investor in the redefinition of its 10-year strategic plan
An international tower and infrastructure operator required an analysis of the FTTx, FTTT, and FTTDC markets in a Latin American country and an assessment of the internal capabilities of an operator they had recently acquired.
Based on the market assessment, we supported our client in the redefinition of its 10-year strategic plan, forecasting the possible evolution of each one of its business lines.
Solution
We developed a detailed assessment of the fibre, tower and data centre connectivity markets based on competition, regulation, pricing and expected 10-year trends. We assessed the internal capabilities of the operator to identify quick-wins, opportunities and spaces within the TMT ecosystem where our client could position itself, using its assets and client base as leverage to create joint-ventures or cooperation schemes with other players.
Through workshops and brainstorming sessions with the CxO team, we enabled the redefinition of their 10-year strategic plan and developed a dynamic 10-year operational business plan that reflected different strategies (e.g., divestment of specific business lines) and included multiple scenarios of greenfield FTTh deployments in Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities of the country.
Result
Supported our client in the redefinition of their 10-year strategic plan supported by a dynamic model, in which we highlighted our view on the different fibre markets, forecasts on revenues/opex/capex, valued the individual business segments and provided financial KPIs such as enterprise value, EBITDA multiple, IRR and ROIC to drive C-Suite decisions.
